Die WTO legt fest, unter welchen Bedingungen und für welche Dauer Safeguard Measures angewendet werden können.
Handelsabkommen und Schutzmaßnahmen wie Safeguard Measures sind daher wichtige Instrumente, um einen fairen und ausgeglichenen internationalen Handel zu gewährleisten und die heimische Industrie vor unfairem Wettbewerb zu schützen. Es ist entscheidend, dass solche Maßnahmen transparent, gerechtfertigt und zeitlich begrenzt sind, um die Effizienz des internationalen Handelssystems zu erhalten.
